Legislation should be well thought and properly drafted, Government passed the amendment bill in haste. Sad to see the attitude of Government members who are not ready to take feedback.
In this amendment Govt is acknowledging the hearing impaired people as differently abled but rest with any disabilities will still be called disabled people. Ideally they should have changed the overall definition and replace words like defect and disabled with differently abled. DB should be written as dB for decibels. But the Minister insisted that it is thoroughly vetted by the Committee.
