Discipline can guide the children’s behaviour or set limits to help them learn to take better care of themselves, other people and the world around them. So it is quite important to define those punishment or disciplinary measures that should be allowed in school. Physical punishment is associated with increased child aggression, antisocial behaviour, lower intellectual achievement, poorer quality of parent–child relationships, mental health problems (such as depression), and diminished moral internalization. It’s a responsibility of government to raise campaigns which highlight the harmful impact of corporal punishment.
